JUNIOR ARCHITECT

ReThink Studio is seek­ing a Junior Architect with strong design and draft­ing skills to devel­op draw­ings and pre­sen­ta­tion mate­r­i­al for our urban tran­sit pro­pos­als. Ideal can­di­dates are tal­ent­ed design­ers with pre­vi­ous draft­ing expe­ri­ence, a strong graph­ic sen­si­bil­i­ty, and a basic under­stand­ing of Adobe After Effects. Strong visu­al skills, self-moti­va­tion, crit­i­cal think­ing skills, and a desire and abil­i­ty to learn quick­ly are essen­tial. Preference will be giv­en to appli­cants with a strong tech­ni­cal under­stand­ing of urban sys­tems and stan­dard means of rep­re­sen­ta­tion, as well as the abil­i­ty to present com­plex ideas in a clear and artic­u­late manner.

Job Duties:

~ Efficiently draw, design and devel­op tran­sit pro­pos­als at mul­ti­ple scales
~ Distill com­plex and abstract con­cepts into clear and well-illus­trat­ed draw­ings and narratives
~ Draft and edit tech­ni­cal and rep­re­sen­ta­tion­al draw­ings, dia­grams, and images
~ Work with a team to pro­duce and edit animations 
~ Assemble research, draw­ings, design mate­ri­als into cohe­sive presentation
~ Work with a team to con­struct descrip­tive nar­ra­tives of pro­pos­als and sup­port­ing pre­sen­ta­tion materials

Qualifications:

~ 1–2 years expe­ri­ence work­ing in a relat­ed role preferred
~ B.Arch., M.Arch., or equivalent
~ Fluency in AutoCAD, Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), GIS
~ Knowledge of Adobe After Effects preferred 
~ Interest in and tech­ni­cal under­stand­ing of urban tran­sit sys­tems (rail, bus, metro, etc.)
~ Strong graph­ic sen­si­bil­i­ty with regards to the visu­al­iza­tion of data, maps, and diagrams
~ Excellent inter­per­son­al, writ­ten, and ver­bal com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills
~ Ability to pri­or­i­tize and multi-task

Office Manager

OFFICE MANAGER

ReThink Studio is seek­ing an Office Manager to pro­vide admin­is­tra­tive over­sight and assist with pro­duc­tion of pre­sen­ta­tion mate­ri­als for our ReThinkNYC plan. Ideal can­di­dates are resource­ful, detail-ori­ent­ed and have excel­lent expos­i­to­ry writ­ing skills, and/or are tech­no­log­i­cal­ly inclined. Having an inter­est in graphics/graphic design is a plus.

Job Duties:

~ Coordinate over­all admin­is­tra­tive activities
~ Work with a team to write descrip­tive nar­ra­tives of pro­pos­als and sup­port­ing pre­sen­ta­tion materials
~ Play a key role in pro­duc­ing pre­sen­ta­tion mate­ri­als, such as our in-house book pro­duc­tion process­es (includ­ing print­ing, assem­bling, and bind­ing of ReThink Studio books)
~ Assemble research, draw­ings, and design mate­ri­als into cohe­sive presentation
~ Oversee and main­tain gen­er­al office sys­tems and equipment
~ Assist with IT services

Qualifications:

~ 1–2 years expe­ri­ence work­ing in a relat­ed role
~ Bachelor’s degree
~ Fluency in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
~ Excellent inter­per­son­al, writ­ten, and ver­bal com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills
~ Ability to pri­or­i­tize and multi-task

Outreach Coordinator

OUTREACH COORDINATOR

ReThink Studio is seek­ing an Outreach Coordinator to help lead advo­ca­cy efforts for our ReThinkNYC plan. Our region is reach­ing a tip­ping point: our rail infra­struc­ture is at capac­i­ty, man­i­fest­ed by con­stant delays and fail­ures jeop­ar­diz­ing the region’s growth and eco­nom­ic health. We believe our plan is part of solu­tion to the­se prob­lems and we need a resource­ful, orga­nized, and hard-work­ing team mem­ber to help bring the­se advo­ca­cy efforts to the next lev­el. ReThink Studio is a col­lab­o­ra­tive and high­ly dynam­ic orga­ni­za­tion – all employ­ees should be flex­i­ble and will­ing to ful­fill a vari­ety of roles as needed. 

Job Duties:

~ Help devel­op & exe­cute out­reach strategy
~ Act as point of con­tact exter­nal­ly and internally
~ Set up meet­ings and cre­ate & deliv­er presentations
~ Help devel­op a com­pelling nar­ra­tive and pre­sen­ta­tion for each meeting/audience
~ Coordinate col­lab­o­ra­tion between out­reach and pro­duc­tion teams
~ Perform asso­ci­at­ed admin­is­tra­tive duties – cal­en­dar man­age­ment, con­tacts data­base main­te­nance, event plan­ning, etc.
~ Generally fill in gaps where needed

Qualifications:

~ Interest and expe­ri­ence in urban plan­ning, trans­porta­tion, and New York civic & polit­i­cal world is a must
~ 3–5 years expe­ri­ence work­ing in a relat­ed role
~ Bachelor’s degree
~ Fluency in MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
~ Excellent inter­per­son­al, writ­ten, and ver­bal com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills
~ Ability to both work inde­pen­dent­ly (with min­i­mal super­vi­sion) and col­lab­o­rate effectively
~ Ability to pri­or­i­tize and multi-task
~ Experience with the prin­ci­ples of design and archi­tec­ture a plus
