DID YOU KNOW… in the 1960’s, the MTA planned for the IND Queens Boulevard Line (E Train) to extend service past Jamaica Center — Parsons/Archer Station and continue as a two-track line along the LIRR Atlantic Branch? It would have run through Locust Manor and Laurelton stations, with stops at Sutphin, Parsons, Linden, Baisely, and Springfield Boulevards. Due to a lack of funding as well as some political opposition, this plan was never implemented.

DID YOU KNOW… The 1921 Jenny Plan included a loop rapid transit system that would have served all of New Jersey’s railroads? According to the report, “the New York-New Jersey Port and Harbor Development Commission did nothing about this recommendation, in fact it seemed to resent it, but this proposal found favor in Bergen and Passaic Counties in New Jersey.”
